Starbucks Grilled Cheese Sandwich (Vegan CopyCat)

Indulge in the warm, melty goodness of this vegan grilled cheese sandwich, a delightful copycat of the beloved Starbucks classic. Made with perfectly toasted sourdough bread, each bite reveals layers of gooey vegan cheese that melt to perfection. For an extra burst of flavor, feel free to add fresh tomatoes or creamy avocado. This comforting sandwich is not just a quick meal; it’s a nostalgic reminder of childhood favorites, crafted to satisfy your cravings while keeping it plant-based. Enjoy it alongside your favorite soup for the ultimate cozy experience!

Ingredients

4 slices of Sourdough Bread (or your favorite vegan bread)

2-4 Tablespoons Vegan Butter (for spreading)

1 cup Violife Vegan Cheeses (1/2 Cheddar and 1/2 Manchego, or your favorites)

Optional: sliced tomatoes, avocado, or fresh basil for extra flavor

Instructions

Spread a thin layer of vegan butter on one side of each slice of bread.

Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in a cast iron skillet over medium heat.

Layer half of each of the vegan cheese on top of the bread. If you’re using optional ingredients like tomatoes or avocado, add them on top of the cheese. (adjust the amount of cheese you add according to the size of your bread slices)

Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.

Cover the pan with a lid and cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom slice is golden brown and crispy. Press down gently with a spatula for even cooking.

Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the second side is golden and the cheese has melted.

Remove from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing. Serve warm with a side of soup or your favorite dipping sauce.

Note: I used Violife cheeses because they melt the best in my opinion, but use your favorite cheese that you desire. Any blend of cheese flavors will work. You can add as much or little cheese as you desire.

You can also cook the grilled cheese in a regular skillet if you dont have a cast iron.
