This homemade peanut butter is rich, creamy, and full of flavor—made with just a handful of ingredients and your choice of raw or roasted peanuts. Roasted peanuts give it a deep, nutty flavor while raw peanuts create a lighter, earthier spread. You can sweeten it naturally with a touch of maple syrup or add a little oil for extra smoothness. Packed with healthy fats, plant-based protein, and heart-friendly nutrients, this peanut butter is perfect for spreading on toast, swirling into smoothies, or using in your favorite vegan recipes. Once you make it fresh at home, you may never go back to store-bought again!
Ingredients
2 cups Peanuts (raw or roasted, shelled and skin removed if preferred)
1/2 tsp Salt (optional)
1–2 tsp Coconut Oil or Peanut Oil (optional, for creaminess)
1–2 tsp Maple Syrup or Agave (optional, for sweetness)
For Roasted Peanut Butter
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Spread raw peanuts on a baking tray in a single layer.
Roast for 10–12 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and fragrant.
Let cool slightly before blending.
Instructions (Same for Raw or Roasted):
Add peanuts to a food processor or high-speed blender.
Blend on high speed for 1 minute. The peanuts will turn into crumbs.
Scrape down the sides and blend again. It will go through stages: crumbs → paste → thick butter → creamy butter.
After 3–5 minutes total, once creamy, add salt, optional oil for smoother texture, and maple/agave if desired.
Blend one final time to fully incorporate.
Transfer to a clean jar and store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
Notes:
Roasted peanuts = rich, nutty flavor
Raw peanuts = lighter, earthier taste
Add a dash of cinnamon or vanilla for a twist!
Yields: 1½ cups
