Easy Naan Bread

Easy Naan Bread

Elevate your dining experience with my irresistible easy tasty naan bread. This recipe promises a perfect balance of softness and flavor, making it an ideal companion to your favorite dishes. Quick to make and utterly satisfying to eat, it's sure to become a staple in your kitchen

Ingredients

1-1/2 cup All Purpose Flour

1 tsp Baking Powder

1/4 tsp Salt (extra to top naan if desired)

1/2 cup Water

1 Tablespoon Olive Oil (plus extra for cooking)

1/4 cup Butter

2 cloves Garlic (crushed)

Instructions

In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder and salt. Make a well in the center of the flour and pour the water and the 1 tablespoon of olive oil in it. Stir until it forms a dough then place the dough on a counter top and knead a few times with your hands. Add a little flour if needed, but DO NOT ADD A LOT OF FLOUR.

Place the dough back in the bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Allow the dough to rest for 15 minutes.

While the dough is resting melt the butter and crushed garlic in a small pot on the stovetop stirring until combined, then turn off the heat. You will use this later to brush the naan bread.

Divide the dough into 4 pieces and shape into balls. Roll the balls into 7 inch round/oblong flat dough.

Place a skillet on the stovetop to medium/high heat. Add one of the flat dough pieces to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until the naan gets a bit brown and chard and bubbles up. Place the naan in a clean kitchen towel to keep warm. Remove and repeat this process with the remaining dough.

Put the naan bread on a plate and brush with the melted garlic butter. Top with additional salt if desired.

Note: Depending upon what type of pan you use you may need to add a little oil to the pan if your dough sticks to the pan. I used a cast iron pan and it did not stick.
