Ingredients

For Crispy Tofu:

1 Block of Firm Tofu (frozen, unthawed and liquid drained)

3-4 Tablespoons Cornstarch

2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil

1/4 tsp Salt

Black Pepper to taste

For the Sauce:

1/4 cup Soy Sauce or Tamari

3 Tablespoons Ketchup

2 Tablespoons Rice Vinegar

2 Tablespoons Coconut Sugar or Brown Sugar

2 Cloves Garlic minced

1 Tablespoon Sesame Seed Oil

1 Tablespoon Gochujang (Korean Hot Pepper Paste)

1 Tablespoon Cornstarch

1 tsp grated Ginger

2 Scallions thinly sliced (for topping)

1 Tablespoon Sesame Seeds (for topping)

Instructions

In a bowl whisk all the sauce ingredients together (except the sesame seeds and scallions) set aside.

Preheat your oven to 375 F degrees or Air fryer at chicken setting. If using the oven line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside.

Squeeze the liquid out of the tofu. Break the tofu into bite size chunks and place them into a ziplock bag or large bowl with lid. Season the tofu with salt and black pepper. Toss the tofu with the cornstarch and coconut oil and shake in the bag until fully coated (or toss in the bowl with a lid).

Pour the tofu onto the baking sheet or into the air fryer basket and bake on chicken setting or in the oven at 375 F and bake until golden brown and crispy.

While tofu is cooking place the sauce in a small pot and cook on medium heat until thickened.

Remove tofu from oven, place in a bowl and toss with the sauce to coat. Serve with rice and veggies.

Note: You can add a little water to thin out the sauce as well.
